It is not easy to describe what our parents have done for us over the years. The care and the love deeper than the deepest ocean and the height higher than the highest mountain.

They care for us meticulously and their love for us is not hindered by hardship and danger.
They have done so much without complaint and some even willing to die for their children. In return, the simple truth is to show gratitude by being filial to them and by doing so, we set a good example for our children and this in turn promotes greater harmony in the family.

A harsh tone of voice is a common characteristic of bullying words.

It is critical to teach kids how to hear the tone right away so they will know that it is going to be a put down, teasing or bullying event; even before they hear the actual words. This gives them the advantage, allowing them the opportunity to choose to walk away or tune out the bully.

In Math Fractions Are Strange But Decimals Are Even Stranger - Part I

Most people agree that fractions are a bugbear in mathematics.
Wherever they rear their ugly heads, they wreak havoc on both novice and expert alike.
During my years teaching mathematics, I have seen many a mistake directly attributable to fractions. Yet with all the wacky considerations of fractions, decimals prove to be far stranger when you plumb the depths of this curious arena.
In this two-part series of articles, we are going to examine some of these "outer-worldly" qualities.
As you may already know, fractions, percents, and decimals are three different ways of expressing the same idea. A fraction expresses the ratio of two integers a/b; a percent expresses the portion of the whole with respect to itself in parts per hundred, as in 55%; and a decimal expresses a number with respect to a specific tolerance, or to a number of significant digits. In turn, decimals can come in three forms: terminating, non-terminating repeating, and nonterminating non-repeating.

The terminating decimals really do not present that much curiosity other than being able to represent a measurement to any arbitrary precision.
For example, 1.
4123, could be thought of as a measurement, in which the 3 in the ten-thousandths place is the digit in question.

If we had a more precise measuring tool, perhaps we could take this same measurement to one in which the digit in question would be the hundred-thousandths place. So much for terminating decimals. My First RC Helicopter Flight Experience!

A few years ago I asked for an RC helicopter as a gift.

I have flown RC planes as well as driven RC boats, RC cars and RC trucks, but never experienced an RC helicopter. Fortunately I received a beginner's helicopter. It came fully assembled and ready to fly! All I had to do was to charge the batteries and install them in the unit.

The next day, the wind was calm so I headed to a large common area to start my first flight.

With the batteries installed I was ready to go! The takeoff was a breeze and I soon learned to hover and to fly forward.

Landing was a little more problematic. I got the helicopter to within eighteen inches of the ground, when a sudden gust of wind pushed me sideways and off a level plane.
I applied a bit more power and got myself righted and tried the landing again.
This time, I cut the power and landed a bit heavily.
But, I was back on the ground without any damage.
My first flight was exciting and successful! A friend and fellow R/C plane flyer suggested I get a set of training landing gear.
Basically it consisted of two carbon fiber rods crossed to form an "X" with foam balls attached to the ends of the rods. The rods have clips that attach to the skids of the helicopter. This effectively increased the landing base considerably. I tried out the landing gear on my next flight.
Wow, what a difference! Even if I was slightly tilted or landing hard, the training gear absorbed the impact quite nicely and kept my R/C helicopter upright! I left the training landing gear on for quite some time until I was confident that I could land successfully without incident. Since that time I have heard many stories of first time RC helicopter pilots who wished they had installed the landing training gear. I even saw a first time pilot who had the landing gear in his possession who ignored the pleas of his buddies and flew for the first time without them. Making too many over corrections he came down hard on the RC helicopters side.
Fortunately there was little to no damage to the helicopter, but a lot of damage to the pilot's ego! Me, I'm completely sold on training landing gear.
Even with experience, I always use the landing gear when I fly a new RC helicopter.
